Kevin Kearns
Brand Strategist
Generation Y expert Kevin Kearns understands what it takes to reach the Gen-Y consumer from first hand experience. He first began serving the “Millennial Market” as a Director for a large metropolitan YMCA in the early 1990s. In 2003, Kearns became one of the founding partners in the world’s first snowboarder hotel, The Block Hotels, where he most recently held the position of Vice President, Brand Strategy. This role allowed him the opportunity to develop and cultivate strategic relationships with companies wanting to reach the Gen Y consumer. Strategic partners included RedBull, VitaminWater, Spy Optic, Monster, DVS Shoes, and others.
Prior to launching Brand Mercenaries, Kearns owned and operated two successful consulting companies focused in the areas of leadership development (Kearns Advantage) and branding (KevinKearns.com). Clients included Chase Bank, FrontRange Solutions, University of California, Berkeley, Boswell Idea Group, and Pikes Peak Advertising Federation. His passion for public speaking and writing has led to presentations at national conferences, published articles in magazines and on websites, expert commentary on youth marketing, and award-winning copywriting.
Kearns currently sits on the Board of Directors for CityStar Group, an internet-based media company (www.citystar.com). He earned his Master of Science in Organizational Development from Central Washington University and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He was trained in mediation by the Dispute Resolution Center of Yakima and volunteers as a mediator for the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado.
